- Finding foster homes to care for animals waiting for adoption
- Finding new homes for surrendered animals
- Caring for the health of animals through education

- 24 hour access through this website to animals that have been lost or found
Cause for Critters Animal Rescue Society
Fact Sheet
Cause for Critters is the brainchild of several individuals in our community. The executive and board members include individuals who are local citizens devoted to caring for animals.
Cause for Critters has support in principal from both the Town of Drayton Valley and Brazeau County.
The Society works in close co-operation with the following local agencies and animal care professionals: Animal Control; Rocky Rapids Veterinary Service; RCMP and Victim Services; Evansburg Veterinary Clinic.
Cause for Critters has both Provincial and Federal Charitable Status
Our Priorities and Goals:
Our number one priority is to ensure that the health needs of all animals coming to the Society are taken care of immediately; this includes vaccinations and spaying or neutering.
Educating pet owners on the importance of licensing (where applicable), spaying or neutering their pets, as well as ensuring that their pet receives rabies and other necessary vaccinations. Lost pets can be reunited with their owners if they are wearing their license and/or rabies tag or have been micro-chipped.
Providing safe, secure rescue facilities for animals that are in need of such care.
Obtaining Foster Homes that meet the requirements of the organization, where animals may be cared for in a loving environment until adoption takes place.
Financial requirements will be met by: Surrender Fees; Adoption Fees; Finders Fees (for animal owners) and Fundraising initiatives. We will also seek grants as they become available.
Acquiring a building suitable for use as an Animal Shelter, where all species of rescue animals may be housed until they are reunited with their owners or adopted.
Cause for Critters is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers. The Society will work with volunteers to find the most appropriate area based on their skills and interests as well as taking into consideration the time they have to commit to the rescue society.
